STYROFOAM,
in the form of blue extruded polystyrene insulation boards, is
a world class thermal insulation material used extensively in
today's building and engineering projects. Dow Construction Products,
the manufacturer, has developed a range of guidelines known as
'STYROFOAM Solutions', to ensure that the material is used to
optimum effect in its various applications. Based on these guidelines
and in its role as a member of the RIBA CPD Providers Network,
Dow has a portfolio of seminars to demonstrate the effectiveness
and versatility of STYROFOAM. The Creative Department is pivotal
in upgrading these from simple PowerPoint presentations to fully
interactive HTML CPD Seminars - in both CD ROM form and on the
web. This results in real flexibility...
For
the presenter
We
produce each seminar using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), not
the more traditional PowerPoint. This results in faster, slicker,
graphically superior presentations, but those aren't the only
benefits.
For example,
-
Presenter has the ability to respond to audience needs
- Questions can be answered with relevant images and text
- Show reference to Building Standards and Building Regulations
as required.
- Ability to include latest projects as reference case studies.
Whilst
the material contained in each of these seminars is dedicated
to a particular topic, there is often a requirement to cross -
link information. During a session focusing on the new Part L
for example, it is quite possible that a member of the audience
will raise a point that can best be illustrated by the session
leader going to one of the other subject areas. By using the HTML
format any number of seminars can effectively be presented back
- to - back and information accessed easily and quickly.
For the distance learner
The CD ROM and web formats make it possible to access CPD
twenty four hours a day, a real bonus for individuals wishing
to learn in their own time. This is particularly beneficial for
architects in small practices, or those in remote locations.
